De-Mystify
It's endlessly amusing to me, the way people treat my work like it's mystical.
A client of mine calls me her "woo-woo" coach and it always makes me giggle.
We both know that's not what it is. I'm about REALITY.
I'm about reality in a world so delusional that *I* seem mystical, that I resort to metaphor to point out what is so obviously THERE and HAPPENING.
Our culture ignores our inner systems to the point that when I say "template," people treat it like it is a witchy term, not a tech term.
As if they did not use a template to create their powerpoint, their resume, their wedding invitation, their website.
As if the "traditional relationship" and the "career path" are not templates to be selected or discarded, but purposeful mandates of being human.
So desperately we cling to these delusions, collaborating on an idea there's a right way to be. In fact, we disempower what might be artful choice, thinking it's how things ARE.
My work is only mystical in that it's a mystical road from deep delusion back to reality.
Here and now, physics can show us everything we need to know about life. It's beautifully concrete, until you get to its recursive depth.
Truth is a gravitation, a drawing down to the practical. But it's an orbit that can easily launch us to mysticism, if we hit it just right.
