Existential Boundaries
Your first boundary is the fact that you exist.
You exist, distinct and separate from every other person.
It’s hard to keep track of this truth as we arrive dependent and grow in a tangle together, alongside one another, intertwined.
Yet, here you are now, an adult in a fragile human body.
If your fragile human body were to fail, anyone counting on you in any way would find another solution.
I invite you to feel the edges of the distinction your existence represents. Those edges are touching and feeling others, but they are NOT those others. The distinction is where connection takes place.
What do you do for others, it is your sovereign choice to do.
Where you feel bound to others, it is your sovereign choice to obey those bonds.
Where you care for others, it is your sovereign act of will to create a specific experience for them.
You exist, and your existence is separate from every other person on this planet.
That is your primary boundary.
