Devotional partnerships are made of two people who really want to be friendly, connected, kind, compassionate, and familially bonded with one another. Platonic connection without, platonic connection within—this is the environment that nurtures Devotional Love.
The abstraction I aimed to heal in the dating landscape, the all-powerful-delusion of the romantic dyad's precedence over all other human connection, heals to reveal that the dyad is the dyad is the dyad.
Every relationship is a dyad. Every network is a network of dyads. Like a dancer dancing any style accounts for gravity, space, and time, there are laws of right-relationship which provide structure and support to your practices of relating regardless of the style, be it familial, friendly, romantic, professional, or something else. Practices of integrity, intimacy, humility, stewardship, sovereignty, connected boundaries, personal responsibility, contribute to ALL your relationships.
Yes, these practices take ALL the stress and wondering out of dating. But they also have participants saying things like "I used to DREAD the time with my parents, and we had a really beautiful visit when they came to stay with me last week."
