Speak 7 Words
There are seven words you can speak into a mirror to get real about where you are right now in your life.
These words give you the recognition you are seeking from every other place in your life, and until you speak them to yourself, your search will be a frustrated one.
Few of us are truly receiving the fruits of our own labor, few of us allow ourselves a moment to recognize our own arrival. It's so easy to move from desire to desire, striving so that fulfillment is an afterthought.
So whenever I think of it, I look in my own eyes in the mirror and I say:
"This is the life I promised you."
I speak this phrase to myself and instantly I am flooded with all the ways it is true. I promised that I would be safe. I promised that I would be loved. I promised I would walk away from anything that wasn't love, by my own uniquely right definition of love.
It puts my desires in a new light, as well. I see how I have fulfilled the promises I made me, and it reminds me that I can make more. It opens a door to consider new promises I yearn to see myself deliver me.
Most of all it lands me in reverence for my own power, my own influence, my own creatorship of my life, my own responsibility and agency as the only one who is capable of delivering on a promise to me.
This early January time is a time of much motivation, ideas of drive and fresh starts and new goals. Whether that will shown up for you in particular this year or not, it could help to first anchor in this quiet, reverent celebration of all you have made.
Look in your eyes in the mirror and say, "This is the life I promised you."
