In January, I spent a week in Austin.
I traveled there to be with a group of superhumans for a hackathon of Our Emerging Future.
The premise was simple: the technology of the future is already here. We know it, and we are the ones to live into it.
Day 2 of the weekend, I started writing, and I couldn’t stop. I wrote in every spare minute, I wrote on the plane home.
I got back to Cali and friends held me while I printed and pasted into a sketchbook the first iteration of what is now my first PUBLISHED BOOK.
The Way of Devotion birthed with ease and immediacy. It was not urgent, but it was insistent.
It’s 75 pages total, cover to cover, and every other page is an original hand-drawn illustration by me. That means it’s a very short read, indeed. It takes me about 45 minutes to read the whole thing—but it takes most people longer.
These are concepts that have been working me for over ten years, which I have been sharing as my work for the last 6 years in my writing and coaching. This is the most potent, dense, and clear way they have ever come together.
My Aunt Shelly has been calling me an author for as long as I can remember, and while I’ve always known it was true, it took me exactly this long to publish my work into a physical book. I’m grateful for every minute, and I am SO proud of how this has come out.
I’ve never had a physical product associated with my work—online courses, live offerings, digital writing, but never something you could gift to a friend in your favorite wrapping paper, nothing you could leave behind in a coffee shop, nothing to flip through for divine guidance in my particular flavor.
It feels so magical. It feels so real. It feels so right to see my name on the cover of a book, to see my illustrations in print, to have this truth written down.
And I could not have done it without you. Yes, you. Anyone who has ever read my writing has contributed to the birthing of this work into the world.
I am truly grateful, and I hope you enjoy this book.
I wrote it, like I write most things, because I just could not help it.
So glad I was with you in Austin for that experience! Congratulations on the new book!
Hi Hannah - do you have a non-Amazon way to buy your book please?
